US Voting by IQ

Chris Ferris posted this really interesting link on his IM: http://geekgossip.net/2004election_by_iq.png.

I'd be interested in the % which voted either way, was Connecticut the strongest Kerry supporting state?

A conspiracy theorist, or maybe realist?, would argue that the republicans can hold on to power by simply ensuring that over half the population has an IQ lower than 100. Slash that school funding and foster unemployment if that drops IQ.

Pssst. There's a flaw in this argument. Let me know if you figure it out.

But seriously, the Democrats are fools for not figuring out which issues don't matter. It's abundantly clear the values that the lower end IQ state folks care about, and it's not whether Iraq really had WMDs or apparently even about jobs. The Dems seem to have lost the discipline of victory. They need another Bill Clinton or even Jimmy Carter to win over some of the red states. And they wil be in real big trouble in 2008 if the Republicans bring in Arnold or Rudy who can win the republicans some of the blue states.
