Canadian Baby Boom continued

We went to our second Vancouver Twins/Multiples parents meeting yesterday and they offered ongoing evidence of the Canadian baby boom that I mentioned a few weeks ago. We were sitting in a line of 4 expectent moms due Nov 15, Dec 9th, Dec 11th and Dec 13th. The first mom is going in a couple weeks for a section, and she said that Women's hospital in vancouver has twice as many births as normal. And that twins/multiple moms are not guaranteed private rooms like they normally are.

And I wonder how many times there are 3 multiple births expected within 5 days of each other? I could see maybe one every couple weeks, but 3 in 5 days? Wowza.

GBV:

Hmm, the boom is probably an echo of the earlier echo in the 1980's. Those in the leading edge of the Baby Boom Echo are approaching the age at which the triumvirate of reproductive, job and house stability is at its apex. Consquently, we should see the birth rate increase gradually into the later 2000's.
