I picked up a copy of Uncle Sally's in Berlin, where I was for a few days of meetings. The music scene is very similar to North America's. The same bands are getting hyped - Gorillaz, Futureheads, Coral, System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age. And they are complaining of overhype of Kaiser chiefs and Garden State (oh please, let the stores undiscover the soundtrack, if I hear the Shins one more time I swear...).
I did discover some bands that I'm going to have to check out.
On a cool note, they interviewed Hot Hot Heat. I think that "Rock'n'Roll Reisefuhrer mit Hot Hot Heat in Vancouver" is good. Their favourite restaurant is Locus - which is one of my favs as well, see my vancouver restaurant reviews - and I can't wait to take the magazine in to Fred to see his restaurant mentioned in Berlin.
