Our kids first picture with Santa was an absolute classic. Both children start screaming as soon as they get within 3 feet of the strange bearded man dressed in red. They have NEVER reacted that way before. B was so desparate to get away he was trying to crawl across me. It was a complete fiasco.
We tried again the next day, arriving half an hour before the end of the morning shoot. There was no joy as the line was closed. We went for our very first family meal at White Spot - don't ask me why I'm excited about this... The afternoon photo shoot had no lineup, so we got right in.
We tried the "go slow" approach. Kids standing 6 feet from Santa, getting used to him. Then within 3 feet. They are getting edgy. We tell the picture staff they better be quick because we're gonna move. We then gently sit down, and get a decent shot. B melts down 3 seconds after the picture and the shoot is over..
