Grouse Grind with 2 kids

I've always wanted to try carrying both kids up the grind, and I finally did it! Total time was 1 hour 22 minutes. Thanks to my assistant Sandy for photos, supplying me with water and the kids with drinks, food, and jackets. Pictures are on flickr and there's 2 videos on youtube: ( #1, #2 )

We started out great, and then badly overheated in the 18 degree weather. I can't remember when I've been so physically and mentally challenged. We probably stopped for a total of 10 minutes for water drinking and breath catching and I *never* stop.

The front pack didn't work out very well. It placed far too much pressure on my traps, which were also supporting the back pack. Also, I ended up sweating on the front munchkin far to much. Sandy joked that she needed a raincoat :-)

The kids were great, especially with all the chocolate bunnies that they were being fed.

Now it's done, and I don't really feel the need to try again. If ever, it would be to have a more enjoyable experience which means much colder weather, like 8 degrees, and a different front configuration, at least a different pack. But that is really really unlikely.

Some feats are only done once for good reason(s).

Ok Dave. I've held back on this for a while hoping that the condition would clear up on it's own but...you need help. As a friend, I can't keep silent any longer.
